What is the DIA?

DIA is outside the Tier System of the NRN.
Officially, the Director of Internal Affiars (DIA) is part of the Tier System
to signify the importance of DIA to NRN.
But the Department may aid or investigate in any situation that involves relationships
between two NRN members – even if it involves Admiralty.

The Director of DIA is responsible to voice the concerns of NRN in regards to its members.
He or she is always an admiral, thus, allowing the Director full access to all restricted and
non-restricted areas and information in the NRN.
Field work is mostly done by DIA Officers.
DIA Officers will assess the situation and, if possible resolve the problem. Though they will have
no power to apply punishment, they should be able to use words effectively to solve the problem.
They will get both sides of a story, not showing any bias to anyone, getting ALL the facts.
If it cannot be solved easily in such manner, or the matter is to weighty for just the Officers to handle,
then they take the issue to the Director and discuss possible solutions.
DIA does NOT have the power to overrule a decision made by Admiralty,
though it will have power to pose suggestions to Admiralty actions through the Director.

Note:
The Director is Admiralty, thus, DIA has the same powers given to Admiralty members if the need arises.
